I am continuing with the Mental Health Awareness idea and will further work on making that a reality. I was second guessing my idea way too much. Then I read the blog on Laws of Attraction by Jack Canfield and it made me more determined. Following are the reasons why Jack Canfield’s words made me firm on my idea and stopped my doubtful thoughts and the nervousness coming along with it:

  • The thoughts you think today, feelings you feel today, and actions you take today will determine your experiences tomorrow.
  • It is imperative that you learn to think and behave in a positive way that is in alignment with what you ultimately want to be, do, and experience in life.
  • Don’t censor your dreams or vision with practicalities and probabilities. You don’t need to know every single step that it will take to achieve your goals. Believe you can have it, then release it, and let it go.
  • There are no limits on your dreams and goals. The whole world is out there just waiting for you.
  • Strive to become more aware of the amazing synchronicity that already exists in your life. Sweep away any lingering negative thoughts or emotions.
  • Sweep away any doubt. And then take actions each and every day that will move you toward your purpose and the fulfillment of your dreams.

These are the summarized points from the blog that have been my driving force. I’m now diligent to work for this cause.

“If we start being honest about our pain, our anger, and our shortcomings instead of pretending they don’t exist, then maybe we’ll leave the world a better place than we found it.” — Russell Wilson

“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.” — Fred Rogers

Finding My WHY:

Finding my WHY for this problem wasn’t hard for me. Let me explain:

You have a very bad day at work or at the University. You are exhausted both mentally and physically. You reach home and finally feel good to see your family. But instead, everyone is in a bad mood at home and no one even greets you. You are eager to tell about your day and lighten your burden but no one wants to listen to your problems.

This is not just one day, this is what frequently happens. People don’t want to listen to your sad stories. Many of us already have so many problems in our lives that we don’t even consider any other person’s problem. You know what happens then? These people, whose voices are silenced, create their own bubble that is sort of their comfort zone and don’t come out of it because the people close to them either aren’t willing to listen or make excuses. They start keeping everything to themselves and often don’t speak even when needed. Their confidence and self belief is shattered. They doubt whatever comes out of their mouth so they think that they should remain quiet. Those who do speak up, are judged and criticized in a painful manner. I want to create a safe space for them where they can easily open their heart out without being judged.

Addressing The Problem:

The most efficient way to do it right now is through social media. People are very much into the electronic media right now, so I would use it as a platform to address this problem. I can make an AD or a post and share it on my social accounts and various groups on Facebook. I can also ask the people around me to help spread the word.

Another thing I can do is to write blogs so this problem could resurface and people get the awareness. The most important thing in my work which will be the basis is “authenticity”. I won’t be that blogger who will share irrelevant information to gain viewers and followers. Our society already has so many myths and misconceptions about this problem, I don’t want to add more salt to the wounds of the ones who are suffering. So, I will write authentic blogs whose sources would be verified professionals and websites and address this problem in a better way.

How Can I Earn From It:

I will charge the people with the most affordable rates (not just saying to create an effective pitch), because I know how costly all of this becomes and mostly people avoid joining these things because they are worried about paying so much money just for an hour or two.

I can also contact some investors which I won’t get immediately but I will definitely search for people who are willing to help for this cause.

It wouldn’t make much money in the beginning but it wouldn’t let my hopes down either.

Affect On People And Society:

The main purpose of this initiative is to bring a positive impact to the people and society. I want people to come out of their shells and be comfortable in telling their problems and sufferings. I want the society to stop thinking of such people as if they are mad or worse. They are human but they just need extra care and a little more patience from you. They are people with so much potential but due to self doubt and anxiety, they don’t open up. They have the capability to make such a great impact on the society but only if the society itself accepts them.

Mental Health pain is less dramatic than physical pain, but it is more common and more hard to bear. The frequent attempt to conceal mental pain increases the burden: it is easier to say “My tooth is aching” than to say “My heart is broken.” — C.S. Lewis
